It’s just one of those things, and if you’re not a full time blogger/not dependent on your income from blogging then it’s more likely to happen – life gets in the way of blogging. Whether this is simply family members refusing to understand that you need at least half an hour a day to get on with blogging, or something more serious like an illness sometimes blogging will fall by the wayside.
Should you stop blogging temporarily?
There’s no answer that’s right for everyone. Naturally if there’s no Internet connection you’re theoretically off the hook, though it’s a good idea to try and write posts anyway at the very least so you have something to publish when you can get online.
Sit down and evaluate what’s going on. If there’s enough time in your schedule to blog a little bit without causing lots of stress do it. If you have to cut down on the number of posts you publish then do it – but try not to completely let your blog go dead if you can.
How do you come back?
Here I’m coming back with this post. Personally I would rather not discuss what’s been happening in the last few months – it’s not yet over but I do have enough time to blog again. If you’re comfortable explaining what’s happened then go ahead, if not then don’t worry – your life is private (even if you’ve already chosen to make that the main topic of your blog), apologise and move on.
So, sorry I’ve been missing for the last few months folks, there were various problems and of course, life delivered them into my lap all at once. I should be back blogging regularly now though I might go down to 3 posts a week while life is still hectic.
How do you deal with breaks from blogging?

Glad you’re still here. I’m coming back from a bit of a dry spell too. I’m going to try using my Google+ page to do some micro-posts to fill-in the gaps when I’m writing big posts

Glad you are here again
As time passes by, and we get more from blogging (and this is not only in the sense of financial, but also in sense of developing slight addiction to it, and getting more passionate about it) it’s harder to make that pause. But I guess that’s how we can recognize bloggers that feel the passion for what they do- they come back
Time and again… And while the pause can be fairly innocuous with regards to the future of the blog, it actually helps to ignite that passion more after it’s over. It’s best not to stop, but alas, things happen, and it’s just the way it is. I’ve seen writers make couple of months break after almost every book, so I guess it’s better that way too.
The idea of piling post for later use is fantastic. That way if there is a stop to be made down the road, you know your blog won’t suffer. I have some other work at the moment, so it’s probably a month or so as I haven’t written an article. But having 10 articles in my “safe” folder always helps me a lot.
Again, glad to see you back

I was away for a 2-3 weeks myself, due to a big move and then getting set up in a new location. I didn’t like being away for that long.
I can say I was concerned about you since I hadn’t heard anything for a long while.
Hope all is okay and there wasn’t something too major you had to deal with.
All the best regards, my friend!

It’s ok pretty lady! take your time. As Jon Morrow says, sometimes the most influence is from just one post a week.
Best of luck!
